This is the first in a series of pláticas designed to support community adolescents in identifying future career paths. Both parents and youth are welcome to attend, as we work together to explore career possibilities and align personal strengths with fulfilling opportunities.
Career exploration and planning begin with understanding one's interests, skills, and values to find a meaningful path. It starts with self-assessment, focusing on your interests, strengths, values, and personality traits. From there, explore different careers through research, informational interviews, and job shadowing to gain insights into potential roles.
Set clear career goals by defining both short- and long-term objectives using SMART criteria. Build a career action plan that includes education, skill development, networking, and gaining experience. Finally, review and adapt your plan regularly to reflect growth and evolving interests. This approach keeps your career journey proactive and flexible as you continue to grow.
